Apeldoorn 11th October 2011, UEFA concluded that next year the Dutch company Bredenoord is going to be supplying the mobile and temporary energy to all eight venues for Euro 2012, the European Football Championship in Poland and Ukraine.
From 8 June to 1 July 2012 Europe’s elite footballing nations will be battling it out at the European Football Championship. This is the first time that Bredenoord is supplying the energy for the world’s second largest football tournament. It has previously demonstrated its dependability and reliability as a partner in the field of temporary energy supplies for public events of this size at, for instance, the Giro d’Italia, the Track Cycling World Championships 2011 and the Athens & Turin Olympic Games.
Bredenoord is a family business that has been leading the way in energy supplies for extremely diverse markets such as industry, offshore, events and the construction sector for more than 70 years. The company develops innovative customised energy solutions in the form of emergency power generating sets and biogas plants. Bredenoord is also the largest professional renter of generating sets in the Netherlands and has offices in Germany and Denmark.
Bredenoord frequently works with partners, as in the Euro 2012 project, where it is working with four Dutch strategic partners. With them Bredenoord is seizing Euro 2012 to bring about further development of the European market. Apart from Bredenoord as main contractor, the consortium consists of:
• MTD, water management
• The powershop, installation
• Polygon, climate control
• Ryano Logistics, transport
Jaap Fluit, chief executive of the Bredenoord Group, is very pleased with the partnership. “We are very proud of the confidence that UEFA has shown in the Apeldoorn family business. Bredenoord and its partners offer security in the area of energy supplies, water and climate control, wherever and whenever the client wants. Our technical know-how, our reliability and our client-oriented and innovative approach are what set us apart. This is a wonderful opportunity to show Europe what we have been good at for years. Euro 2012 will certainly contribute to the development of new opportunities in Europe.”
The eight host cities, including Warsaw, Kiev and Poznan, are a great distance apart and so the tournament represents a logistical challenge. Bredenoord and its four partners have already begun their preparations for Euro 2012. The consortium, with Bredenoord at the helm, will go into action for the first time at the draw in Kiev on 2 December 2011.
