Klaus Span, geschäftsführender CoE Produktmanagement & Business Development bei IBM Power Systems EMEA, ist zum Präsidenten der European Best Event Awards Jury 2014 gewählt worden. Er wird die Jury-Sitzungen, die während des EuBEA Festivals stattfinden, leiten.

The EUBEA Festival is proud to announce the name of the European Best Event Awards Jury Panel 2014. The manager selected is Klaus Span, Executive CoE Product Management & Business Development, IBM Power Systems EMEA.



Klaus started his professional career in 1990 with IBM in its German Research and Development Laboratory working in Information Development and User Interface Design. Soon Klaus switched to Marketing and has since held various management jobs in Germany, EMEA and on World Wide level, mainly in Market Management and Integrated Marketing Communications. However, his main area of expertise has proven to be Event and Incentive Marketing.

As WW International Events Executive he was responsible for the strategic setup and the execution of IBM’s international events portfolio. Presently he heads Product Management and Business Development for IBM’s Power (Unix) platform in EMEA. Major projects of his career include building of a WW Image and Reputation Campaign for IBM’s Networking Division in conjunction with a revolutionary Business Partner Program – “NeTEam”. Rebranding campaign “Blue Magic” of IBM’s Hardware Portfolio in combination with a WW Promotion Roadshow. Building of an Agency based Model (together with GPJ) for delivery of all of IBM’s customer oriented International Events and a major restructuring of the entire portfolio. Building of an Agency based Model (together with OnChannel) of channel oriented Co-Marketing for midmarket. Supporting a major revamp of IBM’s Unix product range from an announcement point of view – positioning, pricing and sales strategy for EMEA.



Klaus Span will lead a jury panel comprised of authoritative representatives of the corporate event world at EMEA level, from 15 different countries. In jury there will be also representatives of the press and of the trade associations.



This year the jury will grant:

  • 1 European Best Event Award

  • 4 Awards for Technical Excellence

  • 20 Awards by Event Categories



Besides these, nine special Awards will be automatically assigned on the basis of results achieved in each of the 20 Event Categories.

This year voting session will be more exciting than ever. In fact, for the first time, the agencies with events in the short list will have the opportunity to explain live their projects in front of the jurors and let them appreciate the creative idea and the results.



The EuBEA jury panel will meet within the first edition of Eubea Festival, the International Festival of Events and Live Communication, a two day kermesse that will be focused on three words: live show, interaction and networking



The EuBEA Festival will be held in Seville on 23-24 October 2014; it will be hosted by the Andalusian city thanks to the interest shown by a number of Spanish entities such as Seville Convention Bureau, Tourespaña - the Department of Tourism and Commerce - Tourism Andalusian, the city of Seville, Province of Seville and the Chamber of Commerce Seville.
